Each milliliter of Bilifer® contains 7 mg of iron in liposomal form.
Bilifer® is a specially formulated liposomal iron supplement designed for newborns and children. Iron is a crucial mineral found in every living cell and is a major component of hemoglobin, which transports oxygen to all body cells via red blood cells. As children grow, their need for iron increases, making it vital to provide an adequate supply of this mineral to support healthy development. The iron in Bilifer® is encapsulated within a phospholipidic liposomal membrane, which enhances its bioavailability. The liposomal technology used in Bilifer® also eliminates the common side effects associated with traditional iron supplements, such as heartburn, intestinal irritation, and mucosal tissue discoloration.
Do not use this product in the case of:
People with normal iron levels should avoid long-term use of iron supplements. Accidental or excessive iron intake can cause poisoning in children. Keep the product out of reach of children. To ensure proper dosage, use the calibrated dropper provided in the package.
Iron deficiency is prevalent among children up to 3 years old in developing countries. During this critical period, iron is essential for brain development, growth, and red blood cell production. If left untreated, iron deficiency can cause long-term issues such as impaired physical growth, cognitive and behavioral problems, neurological deficits, and memory impairment.Bilifer® is an iron drop supplement in which iron ions are encapsulated within a phospholipid and sucrose esters of fatty acid membrane. The liposomes allow for intact absorption of iron through the intestines. This liposomal formulation ensures greater stability, better absorption, and enhanced bioavailability of iron. As the iron molecules do not directly contact the gastrointestinal tract, Bilifer® avoids the common digestive side effects of iron, as well as its unpleasant taste and the risk of teeth staining.
Bilifer® does not cause the typical side effects of other iron supplements since the iron ions are encapsulated within a liposomal structure, preventing direct contact with the gastrointestinal mucosa. However, long-term use of high doses of iron can lead to iron toxicity.
Unlike traditional iron supplements, Bilifer® does not interfere with medications such as antacids, H2 blockers, or proton pump inhibitors due to its liposomal and non-ionic nature. Therefore, it does not require a 2-hour consumption interval between these drugs. Liposomal iron has minimal interaction with food and can even be taken with dairy products.
Important: Shake well for 10 seconds before each use to ensure the product is properly mixed.
